Player Profiles
Scott Perry
Perry is the team captain, much to the dismay of Tucker. Perry has modelled his game on the great Rangers legend, big Dave Macpherson - he hasn't a butch voice either. Perry is a leader and you can tell him anything and it won't go any further. When a team-mate had a slight mishap he asked "don't tell anyone", he just told everyone. Perry is loved by kids as every Thursday at training they compliment him on his playing style and the team he supports. It is quite touching to watch.
Aims for next season: only one thing we ask as a team please stop signing in the dressing room, it makes our ears bleed.
John Kirk
John is the heartbeat of the team, everything good that happens comes through him (it's me that's writing this, so I can say what I like). The one thing that puzzles the team about John is that he always seems to lose his voice at the start of each game and doesn't find it till after the final whistle. I am shouting for the ball you just don't hear me. Eh. John is thinking of retiring from the team as he thinks he is too old to continue. Some of the boys have had a word to make sure he carries out his threat as they are fed up carrying him every week.
Aims for next season: demand the ball, it won't bite.
Paul Tierney
Paul models himself on the singer Liam Gallagher. You can tell by those ridiculous sideburns. Paul has been a revelation this season - his good runs help create space for his team-mates to utilize. He is a model pro, always thinks about the opposition scoring goals when they think theay are getting the ball back as it was put out for treatment to his own player. Or getting himself sent off when the team are winning 5-0 to give the opposition a chance. The lads had a bet to see how long it would take Paul and his brother to argue as we were preparing for a game. We all got it wrong, they started at the warm-up, quicker than any of us expected. Don't ask him where the mony tin is - it gets him mad.
Aims for next season: shave off those sideburns and, hardest of all, be happy.
Stephen Tierney
Stephen is the longest serving player at the club and he wears the number 8, the same number as his all-time favorite Cleltic player, Paul McStay. There is a similarity between the two, Paul also had a brother who played along side him. Stephen is a player you tell to play a certain position and you can guarantee within 5 minutes he has played in 6 different positions. When he loses the ball he didn't get a shout or nobody is moving for him, nothing to do with the fact that he has tried another fancy flick.
Aims for next season: learn to relax, you don't have to do it all yourself and get at least 1 fancy flick to come off.
